Used vs new

Financing a used or a new car in the UAE

Both are easy to finance, the maths just differs. Here’s the honest version.

Used car finance

Interest rates from ~2.49% · up to 80% funded

The smart-money choice in the UAE: a 1–3 year old car has already taken its steepest depreciation, so you finance less and lose less. Tenures up to 5 years are common, and pre-owned premiums are well within reach on a modest EMI.

New car finance

Interest rates from ~1.99% · up to 80% funded · 0%-down options

Lowest headline rates and longer tenures (up to 5–7 years), often with dealer cash-back. Just weigh the rate against first-year depreciation, your expert will model used vs new side by side so you can see the true cost of ownership.

FAQ

Car loan questions, answered

How much down payment do I need for a car loan in the UAE? +
Under UAE Central Bank rules, a bank can finance up to 80% of the car's value, so 20% is the standard minimum down payment. In practice you often pay far less out of pocket: many OneClickDrive dealers run 0% down-payment offers (the dealer covers that portion through a promotion or partner bank), and some banks waive it for salaried buyers who transfer their salary. Your advisor will tell you exactly which 0%-down options you qualify for.
How long does approval take? +
For salaried applicants with complete documents, approvals commonly come through in 2–5 working days. Self-employed files can take a little longer depending on the bank.
Can self-employed or new UAE residents get a car loan? +
Yes. Requirements differ, banks usually want a valid trade licence and 6–12 months of business banking for self-employed applicants, and some lenders specialise in new-residency files. This is exactly where a dedicated advisor saves you from rejections.
What’s the difference between a flat rate and a reducing-balance rate? +
A flat rate is charged on the original loan amount for the whole term; a reducing-balance rate is charged only on what you still owe, so it falls each month. A reducing rate of, say, 4.5% is much cheaper than a flat 4.5%. Our calculator uses the reducing-balance method.
Can I finance a used car bought from a private seller? +
Yes, most banks finance used cars up to a certain age (commonly the car must be under ~7–10 years old at the end of the loan term). We handle the bank valuation, transfer and RTA paperwork.
Can I settle or refinance my loan early? +
Yes. UAE Central Bank rules cap the early-settlement fee at 1% of the outstanding balance (maximum AED 10,000), so paying off ahead of schedule is affordable. You can also refinance to a lower rate later, ask your expert to review your current loan for free.
Does applying on OneClickDrive affect my credit score? +
Submitting this form does not touch your credit file, we only review the details you share with us. An AECB credit check happens later, once your advisor proceeds with a formal bank application, and only with your consent.
Is there a fee for using OneClickDrive’s loan service? +
Getting matched and quoted is free. Your advisor is paid by the lending bank, so the comparison and paperwork support cost you nothing.
