The Nissan Magnite -What You Are Actually Getting

A 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, most commonly turbocharged, driving the front wheels through an automatic CVT. Around 100 horsepower. Five doors, five seats, a raised ride height and a boot that is genuinely usable for the size.

It is not fast, and it is not quiet. A small three-cylinder engine working hard on Sheikh Zayed Road makes itself heard. Be clear-eyed about that if you are commuting long distances daily.

What it is: extremely economical, easy to park, air-conditioned, and high enough off the ground to see over traffic -which in Dubai matters more than people admit. It runs on regular 95 petrol and sips it.

The interior is plain. The materials are cheap. Nobody rents a Magnite for the cabin. But it is well-equipped for the money, and on the newer cars the touchscreen and reversing camera are standard.
